Description
This is an Italian Knight's Cross of the Order of Vittorio Veneto (aka Ordine di Vittorio Veneto) for World War I service. The award was instituted in 1968, and given to veterans qualifying for a War Merit Cross. The Order is now defunct. One side of the cross-shaped medal shows a star and the reverse an "Adrian" helmet. The medal comes with its original (damaged) case.
VINTAGE:Circa 1968.
SIZE:Approximately 4-9/16" in height and 1-5/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Black bronze, silk, plastic, velvet.
ATTACHMENT:Suspension ring, ribbon; box is damaged.
