ARTIFACT: This is a World War I era Prussian artillery sabre M73 for the 82nd (2nd Masurian) Field Artillery, 3rd Batterie. The 82nd was part of the 20th Corps of the German Empire. The sabre has a curved blade fullered on both sides and marked on the spine for 1915. It was made by Peter D. Luneschloss of Solingen and is marked on one side of the ricasso; the weapon number is obliterated. The sabre comes with its original scabbard.

VINTAGE: Circa World War I (spine dated 1915).

SIZE: Sabre: approximately 34-1/2" in length and 6-1/4" in width (at widest point); blade only: 29-3/4" in length by 1-1/4" in width; scabbard only: 30-3/4" by 1-3/4" (without ring).

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Steel, plated brass.

ATTACHMENT: Ring, rectangular loop on scabbard.

MARKINGS: Peter D. Luneschloss Solingen mark on one side of ricasso; 1915 date mark on spine; 82 A 3 on scabbard.

CONDITION: 7- (Very Fine-): The sabre has some wear; scabbard has moderate wear.
