Description
This is a World War I era Prussian artillery sabre M73 for the 82nd (2nd Masurian) Field Artillery, 3rd Batterie. The 82nd was part of the 20th Corps of the German Empire. The sabre has a curved blade fullered on both sides and marked on the spine for 191It was made by Peter D. Luneschloss of Solingen and is marked on one side of the ricasso; the weapon number is obliterated. The sabre comes with its original scabbard.
VINTAGE:Circa World War I (spine dated 1915).
SIZE:Sabre: approximately 34-1/2" in length and 6-1/4" in width (at widest point); blade only: 29-3/4" in length by 1-1/4" in width; scabbard only: 30-3/4" by 1-3/4" (without ring).
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Steel, plated brass.
ATTACHMENT:Ring, rectangular loop on scabbard.
MARKINGS:Peter D. Luneschloss Solingen mark on one side of ricasso; 1915 date mark on spine; 82 A 3 on scabbard.
