Description
This is a circa World War I "No-Man's Land" Doughboy bring-back: a 1915 dated Prussian 98/05 butcher blade bayonet. It has a grooved wooden handle and is maker marked upon the blade. This bayonet came to us in the company of a few other items, all of which are listed separately for sale (please see links at bottom of page).
VINTAGE:Circa 1915.
SIZE:Approximately 19-3/44" in length and 3-1/16" in width; blade only: approximately 14-7/16" in length and 1-5/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Steel, wood.

MARKINGS:C. G. HAENEL SUHL on blade; Crown over "W" (for Wilhelm) over 15 (for 1915) over small inspector marks (all on spine of blade).
