ARTIFACT: Wonderful, late 1920’s Dornier Flying Boat tie bar in enamel and gilt brass. In 1929, Dornier built the large, heavy, and powerful craft in Germany – the project was financed by the German government. The capacity for carrying passengers was so great that during its first passenger flight, it broke a world record which it held it for twenty years. After air debacles and financial trouble, the Dornier Flying Boat was on exhibit until it was destroyed during a RAF air raid during WWII. The center features a model Dornier craft in red, black, and white enamel detail.

VINTAGE: Circa late 1920’s

SIZE: Approximately 1-7/8” x 5/8”

CONSTRUCTION/MATERIALS: Enameled gilt brass

ATTACHMENT: Tension tie bar

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from an aviation collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VEX15 LAAEX11/15

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The tie bar shows moderate wear, much of the enamel and gilt brass details remain intact.

GUARANTEE: As with all my items, this piece is guaranteed original.
