ARTIFACT:

This is a rare submarine tie bar from the Electric Boat Company (Elco). Begun in 1892, Elco manufactured several types of boats, including yachts, power boats and boats for the United States Coast Guard and Navy. The tie bar is a submarine in profile reading EB.

VINTAGE:

Circa World War II.

SIZE:

About 1/2" height and 2-3/4" width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Plated brass.

ATTACHMENT:

Tie bar clip.

MARKINGS:

None.
