This is a rare World War II United States Navy Electric Boat Co. (Elco) submarine badge. Begun in 1892, Elco manufactured several types of boats, including yachts, power boats and boats for the United States Coast Guard and Navy. The badge is in plated brass.
VINTAGE:Circa 1942.
SIZE:Approximately 1/2" in height and 2-3/4" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal pin with come-under locking swivel catch.
MARKINGS:None.

CONDITION:7+ (Very Fine+): The badge shows some spots of light wear and minor oxidation.
