Description
This is a wonderful pair of Belgian Air Force slip-on pilot rank straps from early World War II. There were used during service in North Africa. Each strap has a lapel wing in silver, a rank insignia of nickel and an aluminum bar fastened with wood.
VINTAGE:Circa early World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 4-1/8" in height and 2-5/8" in width (each).
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Twill, silver, nickel, aluminum, wood.
ATTACHMENT:Straps: sewn shut; wings: cotter pins; insignia: rings; bars: sewn in with wooden pegs (see interior photo above).
MARKINGS:None.

CONDITION:7+ (Very Fine+): The straps have some small areas of light wear and minor fading; insignia show light tarnish.
