Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a wonderful early World War II donation medal for aid to France. The medallion is an octagon showing Europe in relief with a 3-D plane flying toward Paris symbolizing the United States. The plane bears a banner reading LIBERTE (Liberty).

VINTAGE:

Circa early World War II.

SIZE:

Approximately 2" in height and 1-3/8" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Gilt brass, painted areas.

ATTACHMENT:

Horizontal plunger-style pin on bar, suspension ring.

MARKINGS:

DEPOSE MADE IN FRANCE.
