ARTIFACT:
Wonderful early WWII 8th Air Force pilot flight helmet made up of United States Army Air Force and Royal Air Force components. The flight helmet is nicely stitched leather with British metal and glass goggles that read: "AM 22C/826 2024" with a leather nose bridge and a canvas strap. The USAAF rubber oxygen mask component features canvas straps and steel snaps and the front of the mask reads: "DEMAND OXYGEN MASK TYPE A-14 SMALL". The earphones and audio components are British, the plug and wire read: "PL-179", "JK-26", PL-354" and "MIC T-44".

Approximately 14" front to back; 10" ear to ear; Goggles: 9-1/2" x 3-3/4" – lenses 3" x 2"; Oxygen Mask: 9-1/2" x 6" with 13-1/2" tube; 68" audio wire

"AM 22C/826 2024", "DEMAND OXYGEN MASK TYPE A-14 SMALL", "PL-179", "JK-26", PL-354", "MIC T-44", "PATENT APPLIED FOR, TO RELEASE LIFT" on steel goggle clasp. Handwritten ink on inside of helmet.
ITEM NOTES:

CONDITION:
7 (Very Fine): The pilot flight helmet shows minor to moderate wear, the leather is soft and the chamois is in exceptional condition, the goggles shows light paint loss, lenses are in nice shape, some light fading to canvas, overall all components are in very fine condition.
