Wonderful early 1930's Babe Ruth celluloid 'Umpire's Watch Fob Score Indicator'. The front of the indicator shows Babe Ruth, pre-1935 wearing a New York Yankee's hat, the image changed after 1935. When Babe Ruth went to the Boston Braves, a 'B' was replaced on the image of the hat. The reverse shows the positions on the field of play and features turn dials to keep track of the number of strikes, balls, innings, and runs scored for each team. The indicator was a promotional giveaway distributed by Quaker Oats Muffets Biscuits, the side shows a nice maker's stamp: "PARISIAN NOVELTY CO., CHICAGO".
Circa early 1930's.
Approximately 1-3/4" in diameter.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Celluloid, paper, grommets.
Loop for a strap and fob, or possibly to be worn as a watch fob.
"PARISIAN NOVELTY CO., CHICAGO"
This is from a sports and advertising collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VBJX15 LDEJX07/15 SDEJX11/20
