ARTIFACT:

This is a wonderful 1926 New Jersey Veterans of Foreign Wars member badge from their 7th annual encampment in Lakewood, New Jersey, the future home base for the Graf Zeppelin around-the-world flight. The medal has a miniature United States Navy airship hanging from the bar.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1926.

SIZE:

Approximately 4-3/8" in height and 2" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Plated brass, Duralumin, silk, paper, clear celluloid.

ATTACHMENT:

Bar, horizontal safety-style pin.

MARKINGS:

WHITEHEAD-HOAG NEWARK, N.J (on bar and on reverse of medal); some numbers on clip.

7+ (Very Fine+): The medal shows light to medium wear and has a moderate overall tarnish.
