The badge is in heavy gilt brass and has it all: a beach scene complete with bathing beauty, a fire scene with a horse-drawn steamer and chief with fire trumpet, and a New Jersey state-shaped planchet! The badge was made by Whitehead & Hoag Company of Newark, New Jersey.

VINTAGE: Circa 1906.

SIZE: Approximately 4-5/8" in height and 1-5/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Celluloid, gilt brass.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal safety-style pin on bar, chain links.

MARKINGS: THE WHITEHEAD & HOAG CO. NEWARK, N.J.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a fire and rescue collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MEX12 LABEX7/13 SLGEX9/16 SeVAJJX08/25/19

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The badge has only some small areas of light wear and tarnish.
