Description
This is a 1897 New Jersey State Firemen's Association Convention Ribbon from Trenton, New Jersey. The red ribbon is large and ornate with a celluloid medallion showing the likeness of the Association President. It has gold bullion fringe at the bottom. It was made by the Whitehead & Hoag Company of Newark, NJ and has a paper manufacturer tag on reverse.
VINTAGE:Circa 1897.
SIZE:Approximately 8" in height and 2-3/4" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Silk, gold bullion fringe, celluloid, gilt brass, paper tag.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal safety pin on bar, brads to secure medallion.
MARKINGS:WHITEHEAD & HOAG CO. NEWARK, NEW JERSEY stamped at top on reverse; paper manufacturer tag.
