ARTIFACT: This is a 1903 badge for the 26th annual New Jersey State Firemen's Association Convention. The meeting was held at Atlantic City, New Jersey on September 9-10, 1903. The ribbon has a celluloid medallion at the bottom showing the President of the Association. The badge was made by Whitehead & Hoag Company of Newark.

VINTAGE: Circa 1903.

SIZE: Approximately 3-7/8" in height and 1-1/2" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Silk, celluloid, plated brass.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal safety-style pin, clip on back of medallion.

MARKINGS: WHITEHEAD & HOAG CO. NEWARK, N.J. (in three spots on reverse).

ITEM NOTES: This is from a fire and rescue collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MEX12 LHEX7/13 SLEEX9/16 SeHJX11/16

CONDITION: 7- (Very Fine-): The ribbon has some small areas of wear and oxidation with a minor stain on reverse.
