Description
Wonderful 1870's New York City Municipal Police Sergeant CDV (carte-de-visite). The oval center shows the Sergeant in uniform displaying his breast badge on a double breasted jacket. The bottom of the photo reads: "763 BROADWAY NEW YORK". The reverse shows a royal crown at the top and below: "A & G TAYLOR PHOTOGRAPHERS", "To Her Majesty Queen of England and their Royal Highnesses The Prince and Princess of Wales", "MINIATURE & PORTRAIT PAINTERS 763 BROADWAY NEW YORK" and also lists multiple other locations. The very bottom reads: "NEGATIVES KEPT. COPIES MAY BE HAD" "Cartes enlarged to life size and finished in Oil or Water".
