Description
Nice Civil War era Charlestown, Massachusetts policeman CDV (carte de visite). Strangely, the policeman is not wearing a breast badge, but his jacket buttons show the letters "CP" (Charlestown Police) and the Bunker Hill Monument embossed on them. His belt buckle is clearly visible and shows a nicely detailed wreath that reads: "POLICE" in the center, also visible is the handle of the policeman's Billy Club. The reverse of the CDV reads: "C. S. DUES, PHOTOGRAPHIC STUDIO, No. 101 MAIN STREET, CHARLESTOWN, MASS."
