ARTIFACT: This is a "carte de visite" (CDV) or visiting card of Jefferson Davis, the president of the Confederacy during the Civil War. It was published by E. Anthony from a Brady Negative during the period.

VINTAGE: Circa 1861-65.

SIZE: Overall: about 2-7/16" in width by 3-3/4" in height; Image: about 2-3/16" in width by about 3-3/8" in height.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Photographic paper on card stock.

CONDITION: 5- (Very Good+): The picture shows foxing and spotting. Very light scrapes to upper left and right edges and 2 small scrapes near Davis' cheek bone. Image is still very displayable.
