ARTIFACT: Late 1940's decorative advertising tray for J. K. Smit & Sons Diamond Tools in coppered white metal. J. K. Smit was established during 1888 in The Netherlands and passed down to his sons after his retirement. Though both wars proved challenging for the company due to conflicts of interest regarding sales to Central Powers, the company is still operational today. The tray depicts the company logo of a man working in a mine and reads: "SUPER - MATERIAM - IGNIS - TRIUMPHANS - ESTABLISHED 1888"

VINTAGE: Circa late 1940's.

SIZE: Approximately 6-1/2" x 6-1/2".

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Coppered white metal.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: "MADE IN ENGLAND"

CONDITION: 6- (Fine): Tray shows small areas of oxidation, nearly all the copper plating remains intact.
