ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1910 advertising pin for Hassan Cigarettes. Hassan was a Turkish-blend brand absorbed by the American Tobacco Company. The pin is by Whitehead & Hoag, and features the artwork of R. L. Goldberg. There were a slew of these humorous pins, all with different catch phrases. This one reads I'M THE GUY THAT PUT THE ITCH IN RICHES.

VINTAGE: Circa 1910.

SIZE: Approximately 13/16" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Celluloid-wrapped tin, paper backing.

ATTACHMENT: Straight pin.

MARKINGS: R. L. GOLDBERG; HASSAN CIGARETTES FACTORY NO 3D 2ND DIST NY W & H CO. PATENTED on backing.
