Description
This is a very rare World War II CBI-made 9th Photo Reconnaissance Squadron, 10th Air Force, 14th Air Force. This USAAF squadron was in the India-Burma sector and attached to the 5306th Photo and Reconnaissance Group (provisional) and 8th Photo Group/8th Reconnaissance Group. The 9th was in that theatre from July 24, 1942 through the end of the war. The patch is a camera-toting cat riding a thunderbolt like a bronco with his flight helmet trailing out behind him. The clouds he is zooming by look almost like hibiscus blossoms.
