ARTIFACT:

This is a very rare World War I United States Navy officer hat badge for an "overseas" cap. The badge is in plated brass and shows a right-facing eagle atop a shield at the center of two crossed anchors.

VINTAGE:

Circa World War I.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-1/8" in height and 1-1/4" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Plated and gilt brass.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical pin with come-under locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS:

None.
