This is a classic World War I United States Navy Chief Petty Officer hat badge in gilt brass with silver-plated brass letters (USN).

Circa WWI.

Approximately 1-11/16" in height and 1-1/16" in width.

Gilt, silver-plated brass.

Vertical pin with tongue-style catch.
