Built by the Goodyear-Zeppelin Company, the United States Navy USS Akron (ZRS-4) was the largest airship ever made in the United States up to that point. The Akron had several accidents and a coast-to-coast voyage before she went down in bad weather on April 4, 1933 off New Jersey, killing all but three souls on board.

VINTAGE: Circa 1929.

SIZE: About 3" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Stamped Duralumin.

ATTACHMENT: Hole at top for attachment.

MARKINGS: MEYER & WENTHE, CHICAGO.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Navy collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VADEX08 LFGEX4/10 SEJJX3/14

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): Fob has light wear and tarnish.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
