ARTIFACT:

This is a very rare 1920s Los Angeles Examiner member wing for the Eddie Rickenbacker Club. Rickenbacker was the leading United States ace of World War I and a Medal of Honor recipient, serving with the 94th Aero Squadron air combat unit. Originally membership was extended to the Examiner carriers and corner boys, but then after great success was then offered to any child in Los Angeles interested in aviation.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1920s.

SIZE:

Approximately 1" in height and 3-1/2" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Nickel-plated brass.

ATTACHMENT:

Horizontal safety-style pin with saddle.
