Description
This is a patch for the United States Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, also known as the Blue Angels. Formed in 1946, the squadron adopted their nickname from the NYC nightclub of the same name. The patch reads BLUE ANGELS and shows a cloud with four F/A-18 Hornets (which the Angels have flown since 1986) in the upper right half of a shield and the Chief of Naval Air Training insignia in the lower left half.
VINTAGE:Circa 1986-present.
SIZE:4-9/16" height and 3-13/16" width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:White twill patch embroidered in blue and gold cotton/silk/polyester threads with plasticized backing.

CONDITION:8+ (Excellent): Patch shows virtually no wear except on reverse.
