US Navy "Blue Angels" 40th Anniversary Patch

This is a 40th anniversary patch for the United States Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, also known as the Blue Angels. Formed in 1946, the squadron adopted their nickname from the NYC nightclub of the same name. The patch reads 40TH ANNIVERSARY BLUE ANGELS and shows a cloud with four four A-4 Skyhawks (which the Angels flew from 1974-1986) in the upper right half of a shield and the Chief of Naval Air Training insignia in the lower left half.

4-5/8" height and 3-7/8" width.

White twill patch embroidered in blue and gold cotton/silk/polyester threads with vinylized backing.
