ARTIFACT: United States Civil War VI Corps Badge for the 1st Vermont Brigade. Hand-engraved in coin silver with early, oversized 'T' pin. The cross-shaped badge reads: "VERMONT BRIGADE" in the center and shows a small pin-hole at the top. It was incorporated into the VI corps, Army of the Potomac as the 2nd Brigade, 2nd Division, VI Corps and were engaged in many of the most famous battles of the war. Also known as the "Old Brigade", the Vermont Brigade suffered the most casualties of any in the history of the US Army, with more than 1,100 soldiers killed in action.

VINTAGE: Circa Civil War

SIZE: Approximately 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" (1-7/8" with pin)

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Hand-engraved coin silver

ATTACHMENT: Vertical 'T' pin with 'C' type catch

MARKINGS: None.
