This is a pin made by J.R. Gaunt for the United States Army Air Force's 6th Bomber Group. Pin is the head of a swashbuckler with a banner beneath him reading PARATI DEFEFENDERE or "Ready to Defend."
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:1-1/16" height by 1-1/2" width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass with several colors of enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Pin with backing disc.
MARKINGS:J.R. GAUNT NEW YORK MADE IN ENGLAND on reverse.

CONDITION:7+ (Very Fine+): Pin shows signs of wear in certain spots of enamel finish and there is a small degree of verdigris on reverse.
