Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a unique, unmarked World War II United States Navy Air Crew wing, possibly manufactured by Blackinton. We have encountered more than a few USN Pilot Wings in the Blackinton pattern that were unmarked, and the unique pattern, and similarity to a smaller 1-inch version lead us to believe it to be made by Blackinton. 

The wing shows an anchor at center with three stars above and reads AIR CREW.

VINTAGE:

Circa World War II.

SIZE:

2" wing.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Sterling with some gold plating.

ATTACHMENT:

Horizontal pin with come-under locking catch.

ITEM NOTES:

This is from a United States Navy wing collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VCEX09 LAAEX4/10 SAAEX09/01/21

CONDITION:

7+ (Very Fine): Wing shows very light wear and tarnish.
