Unique Gold Star Mother Badge Made from Her Dead Son's Engraved Bronze Star Medal

This is a unique gold star mother badge made from her dead son's engraved Bronze Star medal. The badge is a star with a smaller star at center, both fitted inside a pentagon border. The Bronze Star medal is awarded for heroic or meritorious achievement within a combat zone.

Circa World War II.

About 1-7/16" height and 1-1/2" width.

Gold and bronze.

Horizontal pin with come-under locking swivel catch.
