What we have here is a Unique & Extremely Historical Career Archive of Deputy US Marshal John P. Davis, a Member of the USMS Special Operations Group who was Present at the Wounded Knee Occupation  in early 1973.

The archive includes the following:

An Extremely Rare 1973 US Marshal Service Banner from Wounded Knee SD executed in multi-piece felt believed to have hung in the USMS

Special Operations Group Camp during the Operation. We know of only ONE other, presently at the US Marshal Museum in Fort Smith Arkansas.

A 1960’s – early 1970’s era Deputy US Marshal “Ike” Style Badge #1665 by Award Incentives. Worn / carried by Deputy US Marshal

Davis during the Wounded Knee Operation. Very Fine condition, good duty wear.

A circa early 1970’s 50 star United States Flag, believed to be THE ONE flown of the US Marshal Service Special Operations Group at

Wounded Knee during the Operation. In very fine condition, showing signs of being flown.

A 1950’s – 1960’s Muskogee Oklahoma Police Badge # 231 as worn by John P. Davis prior to his becoming a Deputy US Marshal. Very Fine to Excellent Condition.
