Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a unique circa 1930s or early World War II Deutsches Luft Verband (DLV) glider pilot good luck talisman: a heavy coin sewn inside a Class B Glider Proficiency badge. Thee DLV was the Civil Aviation branch of the Nazi Party. Hanging from a short ribbon, this badge is in bullion and shows a lone gull. The reverse of the badge bears a Hungarian national emblem.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1930s-early World War II.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-5/8" in diameter; lace has a 4-1/2" drop.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Wool felt embroidered in bullion thread.

Lace.
