This is a sterling silver World War II United States Navy WAVES collar insignia. The WAVES, or the Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service, were the first women to serve in the army as a division of the US Navy. The pin's design is an anchor in front of a propeller.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:1-3/16" height and 1-1/16" width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Sterling silver.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with come-under catch.
MARKINGS:STERLING.
