ARTIFACT: Sterling WWII United States Army General Staff collar insignia originally worn by Major General Leven C. Allen, the Chief of Staff for the 12th Army Group. The collar insignia features a gilt brass Great Seal of the United States - the eagle bears an enameled US shield and above it a circle of stars. The eagle is applied to a sterling silver five point star.

VINTAGE: Circa WWII

SIZE: Approximately 15/16" x 15/16"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Sterling, gilt brass, enamel

ATTACHMENT: Two pins with clutchbacks

MARKINGS: "STERLING"

ITEM NOTES: This is from a US Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAX09 LFJX8/16 SFJX9/16

CONDITION: 8+ (Excellent): The collar insignia shows minor to moderate wear, much of the gilt and enamel details remain intact, overall excellent condition.
