Description
This is a World War II United States Air Corps son-in-service pin in sterling silver. There is an eagle at the top of the pin from which a partially-painted crest dangles. Originally, the area that reads IN SERVICE was once completely black and the shoulders on the wings would have had a bit more red painted details.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 1-3/8" in height and 13/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated sterling silver, painted areas (some bits worn away or faded).
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal pin with come-under locking catch; suspension loop.
MARKINGS:STERLING.

CONDITION:6+ (Fine-Very Fine): The pin shows some areas of moderate to heavy wear and tarnish and most of the painted areas are worn away.
