ARTIFACT: This is a sterling World War II Maritime Commission Award lapel pin. The red, white, and blue enamel detailed pin reads: "AWARD OF MERIT" along the top with a raised eagle embellishment in the center that reads: "SHIPS FOR VICTORY" and the very base reads: "MARITIME COMMISSION".

VINTAGE: Circa WWII.

SIZE: About 9/16" in width by 7/8" in height.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Sterling silver with enamel detail.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with drop in locking catch.

MARKINGS: STERLING 925 A.E. CO. UTICA. N.Y. DES.PAT. 131446 .
