ARTIFACT: This is a scarce circa 1930s or 1940s sterling silver lapel pin for the Quiet Birdmen, a secret society for male aviators. The club was founded in 1921 in New York City by a handful of World War I veteran pilots. The pin is enameled in blue and reads QB at its center. It has an unknown diamond-shaped maker mark on reverse.

VINTAGE: Circa 1930s-1940s.

SIZE: Approximately 1/4" in height and 1" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Enameled sterling silver.

ATTACHMENT: Single screw post with disc backing.

MARKINGS: STERLING and unknown diamond-shaped maker mark.

ITEM NOTES: This is from an 1930s civil aviation collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MBJV13 LHEX3/14 SHEX7/14

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The pin has only very light wear.
