Description
This is a circa Spanish-American War era United States Navy cap tally for the USS Uncas, Ocean Tug No. 5Originally a commercial tugboat owned by Luckenbach & Company, the Uncas was recruited for naval service in 1898, capturing and sinking ships off the coast of Cuba. She was decommissioned in March 1922.
VINTAGE:Circa Spanish-American War (1898).
SIZE:Approximately 1-1/2" in height and 36-3/4" in length.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Silk ribbon with tinsel thread embroidery.

CONDITION:7- (Very Fine-): The tally shows some light wear only, with a few pin holes and one small tear along the edge (less than ½ inch).
