Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a bayonet made for the United States Model M1835/M1842 musket. The bayonet is marked "JL" upon one side and "L" upon the other.

VINTAGE:

Circa late 1830s Ð early 1840s.

SIZE:

Bayonet: approximately " in length and" in width; blade only; approximately " in length and" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Steel.

ATTACHMENT:

Socket.

MARKINGS:

JL and another small mark below on one side of blade; L in circle on other side of blade.

ITEM NOTES:

This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. KEZAR CON-DB-20-12 LAGEX4/13 RET6/14

CONDITION:

7 (Very Fine): The bayonet has some small areas of light wear and tarnish.
