This is a bayonet made for the United States Model M1835/M1842 musket. The bayonet is marked "JL" upon one side and "L" upon the other.
VINTAGE:Circa late 1830s Ð early 1840s.
SIZE:Bayonet: approximately " in length and" in width; blade only; approximately " in length and" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Steel.
ATTACHMENT:Socket.
MARKINGS:JL and another small mark below on one side of blade; L in circle on other side of blade.

CONDITION:7 (Very Fine): The bayonet has some small areas of light wear and tarnish.
