Small Frederick III of Prussia Memorial Medal

This is a small Prussian memorial medal for Frederick III, who died in 1888, also known as the "Year of the Three Emperors". Frederick did not survive his 100 day mark as German Emperor and King of Prussia but instead succumbed to throat cancer just over three months into his rule. The reverse of the medal reads LERNE LEIDEN, OHNE ZU KLAGEN (learn to suffer, without complaining).
