ARTIFACT:

Scarce WWII United States Navy VPB-102 Jacket Patch. The patch shows the Patrol Bombing Squadron's (VPB) insignia, a yellow circle with a silver triangle at the center with a winged, green, fire breathing dragon holding a bomb above is head preparing to launch it. VPB-102 was originally established as VB-102 in February 1943, it became VPB-102 in October 1944, and VP-102 in May 1946, VP-HL-2 in Nov 1946 and VP-22 in Sep 194The insignia was approved in June 1944 and lasted into VP-22 as long as they flew the PB4Y-2 Privateer.
