Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a scarce United States Marine Corps white-top visor hat made by Snyder's Military Apparel of San Diego. The hat has a patent leather strap above the visor, a gold-plated eagle, globe and anchor an original manufacturer's label and the name R. W. FORD written inside.

VINTAGE:

Circa World War II.

SIZE:

No tag: approximate size 7 Ð 7 1/4.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Muslin, wool, punched leather, patent leather, silk ribbon, elastic band, brass, plated brass, paper, cellophane.

MARKINGS:

STYLED BY SNYDER'S ESTABLISHED 1906 MILITARY APPAREL SAN DIEGO with maker's mark and R. W. FORD written inside hat.

CONDITION:

7 (Very Fine): Hat shows light overall wear with some very small spots of discoloration.
