Description
This is a scarce World War I United States Army dog tag marking kit. The top of the wooden case reads MARKING OUTFIT FOR STAMPING METAL. This kit would have been used to make dog tags for the Marine Corps as well as well. The kit contains a hammer and a block to strike the sheet metal against. There are also some plates and a selection of pegs that mark out numerals and the alphabet.
VINTAGE:Circa World War I.
SIZE:Approximately 3-1/8" in height and 9" in width and 3-7/8" in depth.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Painted wood, brass, steel.
ATTACHMENT:Hinge, two hook clasps.
