ARTIFACT:
This is a scarce hardcover copy of "Western Pacific Cruise 1967-1968" The book deals with a voyage of the USS Coral Sea (CVA-43), an aircraft carrier launched on April 2, 1946. Adopted by the Golden Gate City in 1967, the carrier was known as "San Francisco's Own". The book has several black and white and color photographs documenting the ship's travels all around the Pacific. There are a few pages dedicated to each of the following groups: Carrier Air Wing 15, Attack Squadron 153, Attack Squadron 25, Fighter Squadron 161, Fighter Squadron 151, Early Warning Squadron 116, Attack Squadron 155, Heavy Attack Squadron 2, Detachment 43 and Photographic Squadron 63, Detachment 43. It was published in 1968.
