Description
This is a scarce numbered badge for the French United Nations Battalion (insigne numéroté pour l'ONU/Organisation des Nations Unies Bataillon Francais). Active from 1950-1953, the ONU consisted of French volunteers from among both the active ranks and reservists who fought in Korea. This badge is enameled in the French colors at is center and shows an armored arm wielding a sword as its border. It is by Arthus Bertrand.
VINTAGE:Circa Korean War.
SIZE:Approximately 2-1/8" in height and 1-3/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gilt brass, enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical safety-style pin, saddle.
