This is a scarce mid-1950s patch for the United States Air Force 42nd Fighter Squadron, 54th Fighter Group, Air Defense Command. The 54th Fighter Group flew F-86s out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania until inactivation in 195The patch is in gray twill and shows an armored knight clutching a red missile.
VINTAGE:Circa mid-1950s.
SIZE:Approximately 5" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Twill embroidered in cotton/silk threads, mesh backing.
