Scarce early WWII United States Army Air Forces Pilot wing by Orber in sterling silver. This example is an early, wartime 'issue' wing and the marking on the reverse shows Orber has removed from the die. The pilot wing shows a US Shield centered between lovely detailed wings.
VINTAGE:Circa early WWII
SIZE:Approximately 3" x 3/4"
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Sterling
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal pin with drop in locking swivel catch.
MARKINGS:"STERLING"
ITEM NOTES:This is from a USAAF collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAEIX16 LCCEX2/16
CONDITION:8 (Excellent-): The wing shows minor to moderate wear, overall lovely patina.
