Description
This is a scarce circa 1941 (World War II) USS Marlin SS-205 celluloid launch button/badge. Marlin was an experimental submarine, launched January 29, 1941 at Portsmouth Navy Yard (Portsmouth, New Hampshire/Kittery, Maine). After service in the Atlantic Fleet she began training new escort vessels in antisubmarine warfare. She was decommissioned November 9, 1945.

SIZE:Approximately 1-7/16" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Celluloid-wrapped tin.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical safety-style pin.
