ARTIFACT:

This is a scarce circa 1900 United States Census enumerator badge. The census that took place on June 1, 1900 was the nation's twelfth, and determined the United States' population to be 76,212,16It is a comparatively very important census since much of 1890 census was damaged in a fire. The badge is in minty condition!

VINTAGE:

Circa 1900.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-11/16" in height and 1-3/16" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Nickel-plated brass, painted lettering.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical safety-style pin.
