ARTIFACT:

This is the badge belonging to a 1910 Census Enumerator. An enumerator is a person who collects demographic, economic and housing data on behalf of the U.S. Census Bureau. In 1910, this person would go from house to house, giving surveys in order to acquire and document this data. Just for reference, in 1910, according to the census, the population of the US was 92,228,496, compared to the now 322,762,018 population!

VINTAGE:

Circa 1910.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-1/4" in width x 1-3/4" in height.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Nickel plated nickel.

ATTACHMENT:

One piece open catch pin.
